Welcome to the latest edition of The Guilder – a newsletter to keep you uptodate with everything happening at The Guild.
We’ve been in for 6 weeks now and wow we’ve packed in such a lot!
• Three Men’s 1st XV games
• Two U16 Boys games
• Minis and Juniors games across all age groups
• A Girls Rugby Pitch Up and Play for U12, U14 and U16 age groups
• Training sessions across all sections – utilising the facilities nearly every day of the week!
We have ironed out a lot of the gremlins and snagging and are gearing up for a flying start to the New Year!
Grand Opening Day is Saturday 18th January 2025 and we will be joined by a very special guest to formally open the new club and ground.
• The bar will be open from 11am
• The ribbon ceremony will take place at 12 noon.
• The Men’s 1st XV play Evesham at 2:15pm
• Food is available and there will entertainment after the game.
• All Guilders old and new are invited to celebrate this momentous event
We need to continue to build the profile of Martin Wheeler Fields as a venue to offset the increased running costs of the Club.
We’re off to a flying start:
• Hosted Sport England’s Midlands meeting
• 6th Birthday Party
• Baby’s Christening Party
• Minis & Juniors Christmas Party
• Warwickshire U16 Girls game v East Midlands – including some of our own talented girls

We already have bookings for 2025, including:
• Wedding receptions
• an 80th Birthday Party
• various County events
• School Rugby matches.
We are planning to hold a monthly soft play event for babies and toddlers, which will be open to the Guild family and the wider community.
Spotlight on Mini and Juniors
As we break for Christmas and welcome in the New Year, I would like to reflect on the season so far.
The Minis and Juniors continue to go from strength to strength:
• The Under 7/8’s team competing, winning and enjoying their tag games
• The under 9’s have come from nowhere this year, forming a fantastic team no-one knew we had!
• The under 11’s have enjoyed tough games but continue to show their skill and rugby tenacity
• The under 12’s, who have always been strong, have increased their depth by a few new players and remain extremely competitive
• The Guild Girls rugby teams have moved on at a sensational rate this year, where they have enjoyed tag competitions, full contact games and have done us proud
• The Boys Under 15’s have loved their rugby at this stage in the season with a sensational 4 wins from 4 and will only progress further through their team commitment and spirit
• A huge thanks to coaches, Kev Charge, Luke Fitton, Paul Clarke, Dan Turnball, James Manwaring, Luke Donnelly, Craig Clarke and additional help from Steve and Marcus McDade
• Thank you to all the background committee members, parents and players for a superb start and I wish you all very Merry Christmas and Rugby New Year!
